A few years ago it was pretty much assumed that if you had an Xbox 360, you had Bungie’s Halo 3. However, as of late, if you have pretty much any console (or a PC) it’s assumed that you have Infinity Ward’s latest Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 2. While Halo 3 managed to sell 3.3 million copies during its first 12 days on sale, Modern Warfare 2 managed to sell 4.7 million units in the US and UK alone during its first 24 hours on sale. Of course, Modern Warfare 2 is multi console while Halo 3 is only available for the Xbox 360, so this comparison isn’t entirely valid but it’s no secret that Modern Warfare 2 is arguably the king of first person shooters as of late.
Back in March, Activision released the first Map Pack for Modern Warfare 2 entitled the Stimulus Pacakage. Retailing for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) the Stimulus Package contained 3 brand new maps (Bailout, Storm and Salvage) alone with 2 remakes of popular Call of Duty 4 Maps (Crash and Overgrown). While users shook their fists in anger at Activision over its 15 dollar price tag, the pack managed to sell 2.5 million units during its debut week effectively smasking just about every Xbox Live DLC record out there.
Well, flash forward a few months and here we are preparing ourselves for the next installment of Modern Warfare 2 map pack goodness with this one being called the Resurgence Pack. Much like the Stimulus Package, the Resurgence Pack will retail for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) and feature 3 brand new maps and 2 remakes of popular Call of Duty 4 maps. The new maps are Carnival, Trailer Park and Fuel, all of which are pretty self explanatory besides Fuel which is an oil refinery. The 2 Call of Duty 4 maps that made the remake cut are Strike and Vacant, both of which you will remember playing back when Modern Warfare 2 was just a memory.
Unfortunately for you PS3 gamers, the Resurgence Map Pack looks to be time exclusive which means you won’t be getting it for a while.
This followup to Infinity Ward’s highly successful Stimulus Package, comes the Resurgence Map Pack release. It will be released today (June 3rd, 2010) on Xbox Live, priced at $15. Video after the break.

To make Chapter 6 or later required Combat Scope Betas cost 3,000 Gold, one glass shard, and one scrap of iron. The wandering merchant sells glass shards and iron scraps for 200 and 150 Gold respectively. Combat Scope Betas sell for 4,100 which means there is a profit of 750 per scope multiplied by 999 which is 749,250. The best time to perform this is chapter 6-7 just before the merchant starts wondering why she is always at the Waterless Bridge. In chapter 8 plus, she can be at Forsaken, the Waterless Bridge, or the Righteous Tower. Your best bet then is to get into an enemy counter, run away, and check the location to see if she is there. Time phase changes also change her position. Keep repeating until you have the desired amount of money.

Unlock Secret Costumes/Shirts

During or after Chapter 7, select Leanne and look at the wardrobe in her room. When she says ‘Hmm, I think that outfit is in here…’ enter one of the following codes and press A to advance to the next line of dialogue and unlock the corresponding costume.

Unlock Alternate Colour Schemes and Loyalty Skills for Party Mem

When you complete the Loyalty missions for each of your party members their individuals skills and alternate colours for their costumes will become unlocked.

Prequel Bonuses

When you have a saved game file from the original ‘Mass Effect’ and use that profile in ‘Mass Effect 2′ you will receive the following bonuses: Experience points based on your previous level; resources for weapon and armour upgrades; and Paragon and Renegade Points (this includes a bonus if you have the maximum amount of either Paragon or Renegade points).

Completion Bonuses

Complete the game. When you now start a new game session with the cleared saved game file you will get the following bonuses. Select Loyalty Bonus Skill at the start; retain Skill Points from first session; retain level and experience points from first session; Renegade/Paragon points reset to neutral; +25% experience bonus for ALL characters; and your previous weapons and armor (but no upgrades).

When you complete the ‘Ghillie In The Mist’ challenge with the indicated results the corresponding Ghillie camouflage suits for Sniper classes will become available.

Unlock Arctic Camouflage:
50 one-shot kills with sniper rifles.

Unlock Urban Camouflage:
100 one-shot kills with sniper rifles.

Unlock Desert Camouflage:
200 one-shot kills with sniper rifles.

This feature which is entitled ‘An Evening with Infinity Ward’ is a bonus level which becomes unlocked when campaign mode has been completed. It contains ALL weapons and vehicles featured in the game. The vehicles though are not to scale and cannot be driven.

To prevent enemies from having enough time to throw your grenades back at you hold your grenades for two seconds before throwing them.

If you allow the game to idle at the ‘Main’ menu Trailers for the game leading up to it’s release will begin to play after a few minutes.

At the ‘Extras’ menu select the ‘Cheats/Password’ and enter the following case-sensitive codes to unlock the corresponding bonus.

If you hold either LB + A + Down or B + A + Left + Down during the copyright, SCI Recordings or ‘Aaron Teplitsky Presents’ screen and keep them pressed until the Debug Menu appears you will be able to unlock ALL the hidden content instantly and/or disable user profiles from that menu. You cannot save with these settings activated and they have to entered each time you want to use them. If you have an older version of the game you can download the update for free by deleting the game and re-downloading it.

At the ‘Main’ menu complete the 12 tasks on the ‘Goal Board’ menu to unlock the corresponding hidden bonus feature indicated in the brackets.
